The "VFM" is a self-contained vertical laminar flow ceiling module which is suspended from an existing load-bearing ceiling structure using standard threaded support rods. These rods allow for the elimination of support legs and provide unobstructed passage beneath the unit. These units are designed to give full HEPA filter coverage to specific areas. The VFM provides a vertical downflow of ISO class 5 (class 100) air or better. This module can be used alone for small areas, or multiple units can be assembled together to provide coverage for larger areas. The VFM is delivered ready for operation. If a vertical downflow module is necessary but the facility is unable to suspend this type of module, Atmos-Tech offers a portable down-flow room which adds a tubular support frame under the module. Whether it is stationary or made portable by adding casters, the self-supporting structure makes this piece of equipment a cleanroom of its own. With the addition of clear vinyl curtains around the frame, this area becomes a laminar flow cleanroom.
