This portable downflow room is a compromise between an individual downflow bench and a laminar downflow cleanroom. It consists of a filter bank supported by two expandable legs. The equipment is mounted on wheels and can be rolled into position with ease. The air is contained by transparent material which forms the walls of the device and gives the appearance of a curtain. The flexible curtain can be substituted with a solid panel; Plexiglas side panels offer a popular alternative. The HEPA filters incorporated into this equipment are 99.99% effective on particles 0.3 micron or larger; ULPA filters can be installed in these units as well. As a result portable downflow rooms meet all the requirements of Federal Standard 209B.The Softwall Cleanroom is available in many standard sizes and may be designed so that modular rooms can be joined together to form combinations of small installations or a large complex. Units can be bolted together to meet special requirements.
